Our fleet management solutions use CANbus and OBD interfaces to access detailed telematics data from vehicles, including fuel usage, engine alerts, and precise odometer and speed readings.

Fleet Management Insights

Modern vehicles offer a wealth of information accessible through the OBD or FMS ports. At the basic level, data such as engine RPM and dashboard speed can be extracted, feeding into our driving behaviour module for insights into vehicle handling. On compatible vehicles, actual odometer readings are retrieved to schedule timely service and maintenance.

OBD Interface

Our system supports the EOBD CANbus (J1979) interface, applicable to light goods vehicles (LGVs) post-2000 and European cars post-2004. We offer plug-and-play OBD devices that simplify vehicle tracking for users, requiring minimal installation effort. This interface supports driving behaviour analysis, accurate speed, and odometer tracking, providing an accessible entry point for vehicle monitoring.

FMS Interface

The FMS CANbus (J1939) is supported for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). In the absence of a native FMS port, third-party hardware is utilised non-destructively to maintain vehicle warranties while accessing data. Accurate fuel consumption figures are derived by integrating fuel usage data with odometer readings. This comprehensive analysis, aligned with fuel card information, identifies potential fuel misappropriation either at refuelling points or via siphoning.
